Female entrepreneur Nicola Jennings, the Managing Director of 'Mobile Services 898 Ltd' launched a 'Contraceptive Pill Text Reminder Service' called 'MyPill' in November 2005. The number of female subscribers to date which continues to grow daily, strongly illustrates the need for such a service, proving 'MyPill' being a successful service within just three months.
With 'Contraceptive Awareness Week' (13th - 17th February 2006) approaching, Nicola's aim is to continue her dedication with travelling around the UK visiting hospitals, doctor surgeries and family planning clinics, promoting 'MyPill.'
'MyPill' (
www.mypill.co.uk) is a dedicated mobile phone text reminder service for the estimated 3.5 million UK women who are on the contraceptive pill. The service has been launched from her own personal experience of being on the pill and because statistics, studies and surveys conducted to date, clearly illustrate women do miss and forget to take their pill.
'MyPill' sends a text message to a woman's mobile phone at the time she should take her pill each day, in turn acting as a simple and very discreet reminder. This means there are no excuses to miss or forget taking her pill.
The service is such an important, very relevant, very beneficial and value added service, which she hopes will contribute to reducing the abortion figures, unwanted pregnancies and in turn overall Government and NHS spend.
