    The UKs leading daily city deals website has conducted research and found that Sex and the Citys Carrie Bradshaw is the character most women would like to be, with John McClane coming top for the men.

    The UKs leading daily city deals site has conducted research of 1,286 members of the British public, 652 women and 634 men to see which characters from TV and film they would most like to be in real life. The study was carried out after they noted discussions taking place on site forums on this topic.

    Group buying power website, Groupola.com, directed the question to both men and women and found that 72% of women said that they would like to be Carrie Bradshaw, with more than half of these, 54%, saying that they wanted her clothes.

    The second choice for women was Rachel Green from Friends, with just over two thirds, 69% saying that they would like to be her. Of those that chose Rachel, played by actress Jennifer Aniston, 74% said that they thought she would be the most fun.

    The top ten characters from TV and Film that women would like to be:

    1. Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City) 72%
    2. Rachel Green (Friends) 69%
    3. Gabrielle Solis (Desperate Housewives) 64%
    4. Roxy Mitchell (Eastenders) 63%
    5. Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) 62%
    6. Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) 58%
    7. Storm (X-Men) 55%
    8. Andie Anderson (How to Lose a Man in Ten Days) 52%
    9. Bridget Jones (Bridget Jones) 49%
    10. Mikeala Banes (Transformers) 46%

    Mikeala Banes from the film Transformers came in tenth, with 83% of those choosing her saying that they thought she was the most attractive.

    Die Hards John McClane was the character that most men would like to be, with 68% picking him. John Rambo came in at number 2 with just over 2 in 3, 67%, saying that they would like to be him followed closely by another of Sylvester Stallones famous roles, Rocky Balboa.

    The top ten characters from TV and Film that men would like to be:

    1. John McClane(Die Hard) 68%
    2. John Rambo (Rambo) 67%
    3. Rocky Balboa (Rocky) 65%
    4. Wolverine (X-Men) 62%
    5. JD (Scrubs) 57%
    6. Jason Bourne (The Bourne Identity) 53%
    7. Joey Tribianni (Friends) 49%
    8. James Bond (James Bond) 45%
    9. Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean) 43%
    10. Michael Schofield (Prison Break) 42%

    James Bond came it at number 8 with 45%, followed by Jack Sparrow at number 9 and Prison Breaks Michael Schofield at number 10.

    Mark Pearson, Managing Director of Groupola.com said,

    We noticed that a lot of people were talking about this topic online so we thought it would be fun to see which characters the British public would most like to be.

    I think the results are quite interesting as you'd expect characters like James Bond and Bridget Jones to be higher up than they are. It seems that they have made way for some of the younger and newer characters such as JD and Erin Silver.

    He continued;

    Given that our most popular offers are often our hairdressing and beauty related deals, it is no surprise that with Rachels hair and Carries wardrobe women would most like to be these two characters!
