  • Poll confirms that mummy friends are the best - 85% of mums say so

New survey results are just out that show that eight out of ten (85%) mums couldn’t have coped with a new baby without the support of the mummy friends they made while pregnant or a new mum. And 81.9% of mums are still in regular contact with these friends today – some being lifelong friends over 10 years on!

These are the findings of a new survey of over 300 mums conducted by multi-award winning website whatson4littleones.co.uk, that provides comprehensive and up to date details of over 12,000 classes and activities for babies and children under 5 across the UK.

The majority of mums surveyed (51.9%) made friends at mother and baby groups, with antenatal classes and introductions from other friends coming joint second. And this isn’t a new phenomena as the survey also revealed a quarter (26.6%) of mums said that their mums also made friends when pregnant with them, some having now been friends for over 40 years.

“I made some of my best friends when I was pregnant with my daughter Alice. Five years on, many of these are still firm friends and I’m sure we still will be when our children are having children of their own!” says Sam Willoughby, founder of Whats on 4 Little Ones and winner of the Practical Parenting Business Mum of the Year award. “Taking part in local activities gave me the chance to meet other mums, share tips and advice and make lasting friendships. Plus Alice had the chance to have fun, meet other children and learn new skills too.”

Website whatson4littleones.co.uk lists over 12,000 classes and activities for babies and children under 5 across the UK, is completely free to search and doesn’t even ask parents to register. All the information is quickly available, dates, times and everything else parents need to know including links to websites and contact information plus a map of how to get there! The information is up to date as the people running the classes and activities for children can update their details whenever they need to. A great way to meet new mummy friends!
