  • New Natracare Ultra Comfortable Pads

    A TRULY ORGANIC EXPERIENCE

The organic and natural feminine hygiene brand, Natracare, has further raised the bar on comfort, quality and environmental credentials by using certified organic 100% cotton on its Ultra pads and Panty liners, making them even better for women and the environment.

They are fantastically comfortable to wear and are less likely to cause irritation than many conventional brands, which commonly contain harsh ingredients, such as plastics and petroleum-derived super absorbent gels. Each pad is totally chlorine-free, more than 90% compostable and biodegradable and is made from in excess of 74% renewable materials. This is because Natracare places the greatest environmental care right at the heart of its development.

“Natracare is always striving to achieve ‘zero’ environmental impact for its products”, says Susie Hewson, founder of Natracare. “Currently under review for an EPD1 (Environmental Product Declaration), Natracare can demonstrate and measure the low environmental impact of its products by full life cycle analysis. Natracare will be the first feminine hygiene range in the world to hold an accredited, regulated environmental award.”

Natracare has also introduced two new lines to the Natracare Ultra pads range – Ultra long pads with wings and Super+ pads without wings, Both are wonderfully soft and comfortable to wear, providing only organic cotton next to the skin. They give great, reliable performance too without using any of those petroleum-derived super-absorbent gels that other brands fill their pads with. Compact & discreet, Natracare Ultra pads have a contoured shape in line with the body’s natural curves for comfort & ease of movement.

Natracare is the first feminine hygiene brand to be awarded both the Nordic Ecolabel award2 and to receive a LOHAS3 award for their ecological credentials. The new packaging carries the SWAN logo4.

The full Natracare range includes more than twenty high quality, feminine personal hygiene products, including Certified Organic, 100% cotton tampons (with and without applicators); certified organic cotton Intimate Wipes; Maxi pads; Ultra pads; Panty liners; Pads for light bladder weakness; award-winning Nursing pads and Organic cotton Baby wipes as well as Maternity pads for new mothers. Natracare products are made from organic and natural, sustainable materials for a healthier choice. They contain no plastics, latex, perfumes, or petroleum-derived super absorbent polymers and are totally chlorine-free. The result is a natural, clean and comfortable product for the most personal of places. A truly organic experience.

1 An EPD is a standardized (ISO 14025/TR) tool to communicate the environmental performance of a product or system. A declaration is based on a Life Cycle Assessment. It includes information about the environmental impacts associated with a product or service, such as raw material acquisition, energy use and efficiency, content of materials and chemical substances, emissions to air, soil and water and waste generation.
2 This is an official Europe-wide award for non-food products that minimise impacts on the environment. Products must be independently certified and have to meet strict criteria for all the main environmental impacts across their whole life cycle. DEFRA runs the scheme in the UK where products with the Eco Logo include kitchen rolls, toilet tissue, paints and clothing. For additional information, check out their Website: www.europa.eu.int/ecolabel
3 The Swan logo demonstrates that a product is a good environmental choice. The green symbol is available for around 60 product groups for which it is felt that eco-labelling is needed and will be beneficial. These days, a large range of products from washing-up liquid to furniture and hotels can apply for the Swan label. http://www.svanen.nu/Eng
4 LOHAS is an acronym for Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability that refers to a demographic, defining a particular market segment related to sustainable living, green and ecological initiatives. This award was made to Natracare, for the first time in this category, by the Korean Standards Institute. (Natracare is a British brand, distributed in over 45 countries around the world).
