Smart Women Network Encourages Young Women To Get Involved In Enterprise.

    Women’s Enterprise Day Wednesday 14 November 2007
Part of National Enterprise Week 2007 (12 – 18 November)
On Wednesday 14th November 2007, women networkers will be encouraging young women to find out more about running their own business at a lunchtime event in central Nottingham.

‘Regulars’ on the networking scene will be inviting to the event a young woman who might be thinking of starting in business, who is already starting her business, or who just wants to find out a bit more about what enterprise is all about.

The theme of this year’s Women’s Enterprise Day is Who Inspires You? so the speaker at this event will be Carolynn Aitken, a young local woman who has recently set up her own business, Red Shoes Memories Ltd, and who is an inspiring role model for how ‘real women’ can create their own business and an exciting business brand.

The event will also include the Smart Women Marketplace where local enterprising women can showcase and sell their services and products.

Women’s Enterprise Day is part of the fourth national Enterprise Week (12-18 November 2007), the biggest annual celebration of all things enterprising across the UK. The week is run by the national Make Your Mark campaign which aims to kick-start a more enterprising culture amongst young people in the UK.

A host of celebrity supporters (including Sarah Beeny, Lorraine Kelly, Ruth Badger and Carrie Grant), well-known female entrepreneurs (including Jacqueline Gold, Gita Patel and Michelle Mone) and Girls! Make Your Mark campaign ambassadors are supporting and attending events across the UK.

The Girls! Make Your Mark campaign, launched on last year’s Women’s Enterprise Day, aims to provide young women and girls with realistic role models. The campaign has over 120 Girls! Make Your Mark ambassadors, with inspirational stories to tell.
