Facial exercises may seem like an odd idea but they work and they don't cost a thing - if you'd like to maintain a youthful appearance its worth giving them a go!
Exercising your face works on the same principle as exercising your body. Regular facial exercises will help to keep your face toned and firm and the increased blood circulation will also aid tissue repair.
Facial exercises only take a few minutes of your day and you can do them wherever you like. So why not try those suggested below and see if it makes a difference for you?
Neck and chin
Look directly ahead. Now place your thumb and index finger below the chin and pull the skin downwards whilst lifting your head upwards. Repeat 15 times daily.
Push your lower lip upwards as far as you can. Hold for 3 seconds and release. Repeat 15 times.
Push your lower lip outwards as far as you can. Hold for 3 seconds and release. Repeat 15 times.
Place your thumb just behind the bone below your chin, now push your tongue into your lower gums, as if to attempt to meet your thumb. Repeat 15 times.
Lips
Suck a clean finger as hard as you can for five seconds and release. Repeat 15 times.
Push your lips out into an exaggerated pout and hold for five seconds. Repeat 15 times.
Cheeks
Push your lips forward into an O shape and hold for three seconds. Now smile as widely as you can and hold for three seconds. Repeat 15 times.
Eyes
Try raising your lower eyelids while the upper lids remain stationary. Tricky but effective! Repeat as many times as you can manage it.
Forehead
Place your fingers against the skin just above your brow line. Now try to raise your eyebrows whilst pulling gently downwards. Repeat 15 times.
Alongside these exercises try facial massage with your favourite moisturiser. Use your clean fingertips to massage in small circles upwards from your neck to your hairline. Do this every time you apply your moisturiser and notice a healthier complexion within weeks.
