These are the songs used by talkSPORT – generally in loud 30 second blasts! – for emphasising the emotions felt by sports fans… ‘Alive & Kicking’ by Simple Minds track is considered by many the station’s ‘unofficial anthem’ & Breakfast Show Don, Alan Brazil, is a well known Rod Stewart nut. So, the ’40 Crowd Pleasing Classics’ are just that - Elton John – Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting, The Jam – That’s Entertainment, Thin Lizzy – The Boys Are Back In Town, The Killers – Smile Like You Mean It, The Cure – Friday I’m In Love, Stevie Wonder – Signed Sealed Delivered (I’m Yours), The Temptations – Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone, The Four Tops – Reach Out, I’ll Be There, Barry White – Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe, Marvin Gaye – I Heard It Through The Grapevine… A great selection.

CD3 is a real treat too – a solid run-through cherry-picked highlights of the 2008 sporting season… a brilliant blast down maemory lane & then ‘that’ Jamie Carragher Phonecall. Brilliant!
