  • Bag a designer label for free with clothes swapping website!

www.bigwardrobe.com launches new concept of ‘Shwopping’ this week.

Bag a designer handbag or gorgeous new pair of heels with no cash changing hands, and no need to leave the comfort of your own home, thanks to new clothes swapping website bigwardrobe.com.

A new and exciting place to swap things you don't wear for things you do, bigwardrobe.com also offers you the chance to turn unwanted clothes back into cash, a new concept on swapping sites.

Currently housing designer pieces from Gucci, Mulberry and Hermes as well as high street favourites such as Diesel, All Saints, Whistles, Topshop and Reiss the site, is truly is the one stop shop for getting your hands on a new wardrobe without spending a penny.

The website is completely free to join and use, with no registration or selling fees, and gives members the option to buy, sell, or swap their clothes online, or use a combination of these options, like combining your unwanted clothes with cash in order to secure that 'must have' item. Hot on the heels of famous fashionistas such as Mischa Barton, who has recently joined the clothes swapping craze *,

bigwardrobe.com was launched as a response to both the need for ecologically friendly activities, such as recycling clothes, combined with a new approach of combining online shopping and swapping, breeding a new concept, ‘Shwopping’.

Stylist to the stars, Bradley Taylor said of the site: “ I think it’s a great idea as it encourages people to try new things with fashion, and experiment, and this is where the fun comes in..the fact it’s free to list items means people will be more inclined to have a wardrobe clean out – something great for the mind as well as the look.!“

Big Wardrobe also offers the additional benefit of servicing not only men and women, but children as well, again not something done on other clothes swapping websites.

Jamie Hutchinson, one of the 3 founders of Big Wardrobe, said that they started the business in response to their own frustrations with the expense of trading on existing online auction sites: “Both ourselves, our friends and partners used to buy and sell a lot of clothes on online auction sites but were getting fed up with the expense of this so thought, let's create something fashion specific for people like us, which is totally free and eco friendly.”

“There are other swapping websites, but all have some way of charging – be it fees for listing items or joining, and we also had trouble finding any that catered for men, women and children as well. The main thing that makes us different is the flexibility for users to either simply swap, simply buy, or combine to two – this is our new concept of “shwopping!” and has been really well received with people of all ages.”

Since its launch, www.bigwardrobe.com has gained hundreds of dedicated members, and the founders of the site are keen to also expand into holding clothes swapping events and charity initiatives through the website.
