Local Shropshire author, Claire Baker, has just released a colour version of her book of poems about life. Claire, who lives near Market Drayton with her husband and two children, has written a collection of poems about childhood, parenthood, the difference between men and women, and lots more. Some of the poems are ‘laugh out loud’ funny, others are very moving, but all reflect experiences in her own life which any woman can identify with.
The title comes from a piece of advice given to Claire from her husband’s Auntie Angela who said “It is good to be busy but don’t forget, every now and then, to stop and smell the roses”. Claire runs her own educational publishing company but has always had a passion for poetry, and was finally persuaded by friends and family to put pen to paper.
Claire says “Inspiration for all the poems came from every day life and I have had a great response from women who feel that the poems really touch the heart.” The book makes an ideal gift for women, but there is something for everyone to connect with at some stage in their life.
