  • New luxo sleep cot bed from bloom

bloom has become a by-word for style and innovation in nursery furniture and now it has added its first cot bed to the collection. The new luxo sleep is a beautifully designed cot bed that will allow your child to sleep in style from birth up to six years old. As always, bloom’s unique styling and clean lines makes this the perfect choice for parents who need practical nursery furniture, but still want good contemporary design to complement their homes.

One of the most striking features of the luxo sleep cot bed is its gently curved ends that cocoon the sleeping child and have been intentionally designed to promote airflow – extremely important for baby’s safety. The cot comes in two colourways – coconut white with contrasting cappuccino curves and a simply all coconut white version.

The luxo cot bed is ideal for parents looking for just one cot to take baby from newborn to toddler and has three adjustable mattress platforms to suit a growing child up to 6 years of age. When used as a cot, it has a simple drop-side mechanism on both sides for easy access. When baby is old enough these can be removed to provide their first bed. A simple conversion rail is also available to extend luxo’s life into an elegant bed as baby grows.

Made from strong birch wood sourced from sustainable forests, luxo’s durability is assured and its low voc finish protects baby’s health and the environment.

True to bloom philosophy, luxo is simple to use. Its patented no-tools-required, hassle-free assembly is complemented by lockable castor-wheels for effortless mobility and when it’s not being used its compact fold construction makes it easy to store.

    The luxo retails at £650.00
Stockists: John Lewis from November 2009

    Mattresses

    • The coco mat mattress by natural mat is made with organic coir from the only organic plantation in the world. It is extremely breathable with excellent ventilation and insulation making it ideal for small babies. The gentle spring of the coir is surrounded by plenty of organic lambswool with natural anti dustmite protection (essential oils of lavender, lemon and eucalyptus). This helps with insulation and provides a soft tufting to the top of the mattress.

    • The Spring Mattress is a dual side, progressive firmness mattress which inverts to accommodate baby’s increasing weight. On the top is an unbleached and undyed natural cotton cover – the most natural sleeping surface for baby. Underneath, the rubber based latex contours to baby’s natural posture and the pocket spring design provides long-term durability and support. The balancing net evenly distributes body pressure. The mattress also includes a layer of cotton felt - a high-density cotton layer for extra support and comfort. The well constructed foam surrounds the spring unit for excellent support and a perfect fit with luxo sleep baby bed.
