  • Look for old mates with Who-Remembers-Me.com

The people-finder website Who-Remembers-Me.com helps its members to find friends and relatives, not only from previous schools and colleges, but from a whole range of establishments.

Launched almost three years ago in 2003, the website has gone from strength to strength, attracting over 10,000 members in its first four weeks and now rising at the current rate of 4000 new members a day.

Other search engine categories, called ‘attendances’, include workplaces, places of worship, children’s homes, neighbourhoods and streets, and yes, even the village pub. So, there are plenty of other leads to follow.

Founder Rob Billington explains his reasons for creating what is quite possibly the UK’s most diverse and fastest-growing, people-finding search engine:

“Unlike some websites which focus solely on reuniting old school friends, I wanted to enable people from all walks of life, from all over the world and with all sorts of shared experiences and memories, to come together again, irrespective of schooling.

I wanted to create a more complete website that would cater for a wider range of ‘attendances’, one that could search according to streets lived and played on as a child, to pubs supped in and places worked in later life, so in May 2003, Who-Remembers-Me.com was born.”

And now with more than a million members and registrations in every country, Who-Remembers-Me.com is truly set to become a worldwide phenomenon.

The site works by allowing visitors to register their details free of charge.

You add as many ‘attendances’ as possible; former workplaces, army regiments you once belonged to, streets you used to live on, in order to find and be found by old pals. The more information supplied, the easier it is to reconnect.

Alternatively, full members can do their own detective work and search through any of the 18 categories to find out what friends and colleagues have been up to since they last saw them.

And to keep you on your toes, the Who-Remembers-Me.com team email you as soon as a new member adds an ‘attendance’ that matches one of yours, with a link directly to their profile.

It’s totally free to add your details but if you want to look up old friends, full membership costs £5 per year.

Who-Remembers-Me.com is registered with the Data Protection Registrar.
